Boxman (v0.5.2)
About the Game
You’re Jake, A box stacker at HAULR Co., where surviving your coworkers is tougher than the job. With your cynical girlfriend Emily as your only anchor, you’ll navigate daily workplace horrors while your relationship becomes your lifeline or your undoing. The primary female lead who deals with the external pressure of the debt while her husband is incapacitated/hiding. The story centers on a husband in significant financial debt who is struggling to keep his household afloat. To escape the crushing pressure of his creditors, he resorts to a bizarre and desperate measure: living inside a cardboard box within his own home. While “hiding” in the box, he becomes a passive observer of his own life. The narrative focuses on the shifting dynamic between his wife and an outside individual (often a debt collector or a predatory neighbor) who takes advantage of the husband’s literal and figurative confinement. Voyeurism & Powerlessness: The “box” serves as a metaphor for the husband’s inability to protect his marriage or provide for his family, forcing him to watch the consequences of his debt unfold from a restricted perspective. Visual Style: Like other Ntrman titles (such as The Adelaide Inn), the game uses high-quality, expressive pixel art to depict its mature scenes and character emotions. Branching Choices: Players typically navigate through dialogue choices that determine how much the husband intervenes or submits to the situation, leading to various “endings” based on the level of humiliation or “cuckolding” involved.
