A short indie game with turn based battle concept. There’s so little scope for exploration in this game, I wonder why there’s a tag for exploration attached to this game. Not many fights either. Nonetheless, if they were to expand this game a bit I believe there’s scope for improvement to the lore which is kinda non-existent at the moment but definitely has some potential if the developers go in the right direction. After completing this game’s ‘Chapter 0’, I honestly don’t recommend playing it but my opinion might change later if they add more chapters. Arithal: Chapter Ildsted is a short experience taking the player on a classic adventure game combined with turn-based battle mechanics, set in a dark-but-lighthearted world wreathed in snow and beset by monsters from the depths of the ocean. Deadly turn based battles. Adventure game style exploration, item gathering and puzzle solving. Discoverable skills and equipment. Cast of unique characters. Secrets to uncover.
