Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition is a sci-fi open-world RPG set after Earth is destroyed during an alien war, forcing humanity to flee aboard a ship called the White Whale, which crash-lands on the mysterious planet Mira. You play as a customizable survivor who joins BLADE, an organization tasked with protecting the last human city, New Los Angeles, while exploring the vast alien world, recovering lost technology, and searching for the missing Lifehold that sustains humanity. As you journey across diverse landscapes, battle dangerous creatures, and interact with alien species, you gradually uncover secrets about Mira and humanity’s fate. The Definitive Edition enhances the original experience with improved visuals, quality-of-life updates, and additional story content, including a new chapter that expands the narrative beyond the original ending. Throughout the story, you encounter various alien races, some becoming allies while others act as enemies with their own motives and histories tied to the interstellar war that destroyed Earth. The narrative unfolds through both main missions and numerous side quests, many of which add emotional depth and moral complexity, showing the struggles, hopes, and conflicts of the survivors.
